The Kenya Harlequin Football Club is one of the oldest and most famous rugby clubs in Kenya. Founded in Nairobi in 1923 when the Nairobi District team split; two clubs were then created Harlequin RFC and Nondescripts RFC.
Harlequin R.F.C. lasted up to 1945 and was reborn as Harlequin Football Club in 1951 by a group of enthusiasts, Peter Barron, the clubs first Hon. Secretary, Ben Cook, D.M. ‘Sonny’ Goldstein and John Parry.
The Club is housed at the Prime location at the RFUEA grounds on Ngong Road.
Kenya Harlequin FC has won the Kenya Cup title 8 times the most recent time being in the year 2012. Kenya Harlequin has a membership base 200 members and a playing membership group of 150 players. Our membership group consists of people from diverse backgrounds, Lawyers, Bankers, Insurance, Manufacturing, Teachers etc. a perfect market for Liquid Intelligent Technology services.
The club’s influence extends beyond Kenya via a network of affiliate clubs around the world. They include Harlequins clubs in London, Pretoria, Hamilton, Melbourne, Dallas and Abu Dhabi.
Competing in the Kenya Cup, the top tier of Kenyan rugby, Harlequins presently boasts a wealth of current international globally recognized players and is famous for its quartered shirt and exciting and expansive style of play which has led to significant success both on and off the field in recent years. Kenya Harlequin FC has recently launched a regeneration program for both its players and members to chart a new way forward in terms of positive values for players and its membership.
